shortly explained: gentoo ppc 2004.3, stage1, portage is snapshot.
CFLAGS="-mcpu=405 -O2 -fsigned-char -pipe"
first build of glibc fails (while building math library). because the IBM embedded powerpc 405 has *no fpu*, and gentoo tries to build binutils, gcc and glibc for a processor *with* an FPU. then of course there are conflicts because of "-mcpu=405" flag. I want to configure binutils and gcc with "--nfp" and glibc with "--without-fp". is there a special USE flag to tell bootstap.sh script how to build stage1 with these special configure flags? or to tell gentoo to build a stage1 for a machine *without fpu*???
thanx in advance and sorry because of my bad english.
p.s.: i have had successful builds with CFLAGS="-mcpu=405 -O2 -fsigned-char -pipe" and configure flags "--nfp" for binutils (cvs, 2.15.94) and gcc (rel, 3.4.3) and "--without-fp" for glibc (cvs, 2.3.3)
