Hi there mates!!

I'm in a middle of a crisis here... 3rd time I fresh install gentoo on PS3 because of same problems and always with no results!!
Before anyone flames me, I'm a trully rookie on linux, and that's why I'm asking for help here... Search on google, tried many solutions, none worked out!!

just installed on PS3 the PPC version of gentoo and after geting to the desktop I want to install wpa_supplicant to get my wireless PS3 to work, and the system says the packages are masked.... So I try to update portage, and gives this error... Already done webrsync and some stuff, and I'm always stuck...Haven't sleep on the last days, just burning my eyebrows with this until later hours...

so, the specific error is:

Code:
<sys-apps/util-linux-2.13 (is blocking sys-apps/coreutils-7.5-r1

And I also saw around that you guys always put the emerge -info results

Code:
Portage 2.1.3.19 (default/linux/powerpc/ppc64/10.0/32bit-userland/desktop, gcc-4.1.2, glibc-2.6.1-r0, 2.6.23-ps3 ppc64)

I choose Gentoo for my PS3 because I thought it was the best and lightweight, and I'm no quitter, I like to fight and understand... But I have no results of almost one week without sleep, I'm hopeless and truly sad... These problems are the ones that always keep me up using windows...(no flaming allowed, this is just my opinion)

Just noticed, I installed this during installation:

Code:
stage4-970-ps3_32ul.tar.bz2

with code:

Code:
livecd gentoo # tar -xjpf stage4-ppc64-ps3_32ul.tar.bz2
livecd ~ # mount -t proc none /mnt/gentoo/proc
livecd ~ # mount -o bind /dev /mnt/gentoo/dev
livecd ~ # cp /etc/resolv.conf /mnt/gentoo/etc

The 3 and 4 in stageX aren't a version number, but indicate what is included. And it still stands, your stage4 is too old.

The link for download is right there, in Gentoo install Handbook.

Once again, thanks for the fast pointer!! Been out reading, and browsing mirrors... So, the stage I should use is this one, although early I installed a stage4, can I unpack this one without problems??
