My distro is dropping support for my older ATI AIW TV card and I'm looking at Gentoo to see if it will support the TV function. According to the Gentoo ATI FAQ https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/ATI_FAQ the card is supported, but I'm curious if anyone has it working.

Do any of you have this card?

lspci output pertaning to the video card

Code:
  $ lspci
    01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] RV200 [Radeon 7500/7500 LE]

Well, the real question here is how long will mesa/kernel upstream support those cards.
That's not really a question that could be answered by Gentoo devs.

TV function has not much to do with mesa, it is down to kernel driver.

Your distro cannot drop support unless it forbids you to build your own kernel.

Thanks to both of you for responding. After posting on a Debian user forum, I am told that there are a couple of issues; the Debian kernel options and Xorg.

Xorg
UMS is not supported anymore by the recent DDX drivers, look here it was dropped 1.5 years ago:
http://cgit.freedesktop.org/xorg/driver/xf86-video-ati/commit/?id=18d5ae3bd9075ac1a2ee21b071ac133e2e634b62

Debian
CONFIG_DRM_RADEON_UMS is disabled in recent Debian kernels
