Hi!
I have just finished installing gentoo and am as of now still emerging kde, sound and will then get to usb mouse issues.

But I find that (almost) every package is giving me this kind of errors:

Code:
scanelf: rpath_security_checks(): Security problem NULL DT_RPATH in /var/tmp/portage/app-arch/bzip2-1.0.6-r3/image/bin/bzip2
scanelf: rpath_security_checks(): Security problem NULL DT_RUNPATH in /var/tmp/portage/app-arch/bzip2-1.0.6-r3/image/bin/bzip2

scanelf: rpath_security_checks(): Security problem NULL DT_RPATH in /var/tmp/portage/app-arch/bzip2-1.0.6-r3/image/lib64/libbz2.so.1.0.6
scanelf: rpath_security_checks(): Security problem NULL DT_RUNPATH in /var/tmp/portage/app-arch/bzip2-1.0.6-r3/image/lib64/libbz2.so.1.0.6

I have emerged, unmerged and re-emerged but the issue doesn't go away. What is the problem? Have I missed something?

It looks like a problem with the linker. Perhaps reemerging binutils helps. If not, perhaps reemerging glibc helps.
Or maybe you have strange environment variables (like LD*) set in your profile which are not visible in the emerge output?

That might very well be. emerging glibc failed because it couldn't find autoconf.

Anyway... since then I have moved to a different distro. I had only weekend to set things up :(
