|My work computer has both a normal mouse and a cad mouse (6-axis joystick). The cad mouse is registered as both /dev/input/js0 and /dev/input/mouse0. Unfortunately, this means it takes over the mouse cursor when I use it.
Things I have tried:
- setting up a rule in eudev to map it to /dev/input/js0 only (and other numbers)
- removing eudev and trying udev
- setting xorg.conf to use only the real mouse with /dev/input/by-id/...
Am I missing something simple? I know it works in ubuntu, but I recently switched my work computer to gentoo to fix a lot of other problems and have no intention of going back.
EDIT: I emerged xinput and used it to disable the device. It still works in cad programs, but is not used to control the mouse in X.
