After kernel upgrade for VM from 3.13.10-hardened -> 3.14.5-hardened-r2

VM shutdown during boot after network interface became up

#Info from qemu host ( app-emulation/qemu-2.0.0 )
tail -f /var/log/libvirt/qemu/MyVM.log

qemu-system-x86_64: virtio: trying to map MMIO memory
2014-06-13 23:26:06.966+0000: shutting down

( booting into 3.13.10 - fine all the time )

It looks VERY similar to :
https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/40627

Please advice ,
Caiman.

Caiman ...

I can't comment on the actual problem other than to say that Sven Vermeulen stated in the report for Gentoo Hardened, June 2014 that:

Sven Vermeulen wrote:
The latest kernels should not be used with KRANDSTACK on production systems though; there are some issues reported with virtio network interface support (on the guests) and ZFS.

... this suggests issues with virtio and recent sys-kernel/hardened-sources is a known problem.

best ... khay

Ok. Thanks for info.

#workaround as below:
Code:
genkernel --menuconfig  all

Grsecurity->Customize Configuration->Memory Protection
[ ] Prevent kernel stack overflows
