Is an Intel T4200 (64bit Pentium Dual-Core) classified in the kernel under the Core2/Newer option? It has almost as much support as my actual Core2Duo, except it lacks the sse4.1 stuff. I believe it should be, but I am not quite sure. Help?

I'm only guessing because I don't have the exact CPU but according to ARK it's a Penryn core and should execute most Core2 instructions. You might just go ahead and select core2 and see if it works, it should, IMHO. Worst case is you get an invalid instruction and crash... Save your old kernel!

This is a fresh install so no old kernel. I went ahead already and it seems to work fine. It is very comparable to my P8600 based on what I see in /proc/cpuinfo, so I believe it is the correct choice. Thanks anyway!
