I've set up a System for netbooting (using tftp), a genkernel based static kernel and genkernel based initramfs.
I've set up an nfs root (using files from the Gentoo based Toorox disctribution)
I've triple checked that the kernel contains the correct Ethernet Card Driver.

When I start the client, kernel and initramfs load, I get errors during the run of the initramfs (see below, typed from a screenshot). The first problem I have here is with
'can't access tty: job control turned off': I cannoy type anything, so cannot even start to debug the Networking problem.

I have found several mentions of this error online, but not a single solution. Can anyone help me ?
Alternatively, does anyone have a ready made initramfs (or instructions how to) that can be used for netbooting with an nfs root ?

Hi!

For the "tty" error, verify that your /dev initial system has at least /dev/null and /dev/console present. After that, the /dev will be created by udev or other devtmpfs system.

For the keyboard : did you build the keyboard driver (+ USB driver) built-in in the kernel, and not as module?

For the Keyboard, I had CONFIG_HID_GENERIC on, but
CONFIG_USB_HID was off, so I'll rebuild and test this evening. So far I had activated AT Keyboard, but of course that doesn't work with USB.

up to now, I though the Keyboard Problem was related to the tty problem.

Regarding the tty error. Shouldn't an initramfs built from genkernel not automatically contain all these parts ?
