I really don't know, and haven't had the time to look into it more. I just know enough to check console 2, and that's enough for me. Funny enough if you try to start it manually, it does start. For me, on that console is the X anyway, which used to be on console 7, but whatever.

after reviewing Systemd WiKi Page https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Systemd, i ran:
Code:
systemctl preset-all


i noticed that one of the services that were enabled is: getty@tty1
after that - problem was resolved!
