Hi,

I donwloaded and installed the stage-3-tarball: stage3-arm64-systemd-20190428.tar.bz2,
which I used because all others where much older. I've got it from here:
https://gentoo.osuosl.org/experimental/arm64/

Before I start compiling everything I would like to make sure that the entries in make.conf are perfect.
The version on the tarball says COMMON_FLAGS="-O2 -pipe" for all those flags.
I want to use the board as an intranet server (mail and internal website)
Thanx for any suggestions!

This is the complete make.conf from the tarball:

Code:
# These settings were set by the catalyst build script that automatically
# built this stage.
# Please consult /usr/share/portage/config/make.conf.example for a more
# detailed example.
COMMON_FLAGS="-O2 -pipe"
CFLAGS="${COMMON_FLAGS}"
CXXFLAGS="${COMMON_FLAGS}"
FCFLAGS="${COMMON_FLAGS}"
FFLAGS="${COMMON_FLAGS}"
# WARNING: Changing your CHOST is not something that should be done lightly.
# Please consult https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Changing_the_CHOST_variable before changing.
CHOST="aarch64-unknown-linux-gnu"

# NOTE: This stage was built with the bindist Use flag enabled
PORTDIR="/usr/portage"
DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles"
PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages"

# This sets the language of build output to English.
# Please keep this setting intact when reporting bugs.

Greetings
Michael

  1. Please look at https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Safe_CFLAGS#ARM for recommended CFLAGS.

  2. How many cores does your Raspberry have? 4? You may want to add:
    Code:
    MAKEOPTS="-j4"

  3. Please edit your post and surround the contents of make.conf with [ code] ... [ /code] tags (without the space). It will be much easier to read.
