Hi,
It says here that I have to use Disk Management instead of fdisk:

Do I shrink my existing Windows partition with Disk Management and create a partition for Gentoo that way?

Thanks

Half. Yes, shrinking your windows partition with Disk Management is the most reliable way to do it. Widows is rather good at not destroying itself while Linux tools are less good at it.

Once you have shrunk windows, fire up your live media and then create your partitions and filesystems as you normally would in the free space. I generally use the system rescue CD, so gparted is included.

Apologies if I take a while to respond. I'm currently working on the dematerialization circuit for my blue box.
