I have had this problem for well over a month and cannot figure this out. Basically I have an unbootable system on my desktop that has a message

Code:
udev         * Waiting for uevents to be processed ...
during the init process. Yes, I have searched the forums and saw that others have had this issue as well and none of the solutions have worked on my system. I have read the 2014-02-25-udev-upgrade eselect news guide but that has not helped. Maybe I did something wrong during the process? Can someone please help me with this. Thank you.

Which version of udev or eudev are you using? Did it ever work?

Boot with a rescue CD/DVD/USB, go into /etc/conf.d/udev. Uncomment the line that says "udev_monitor="YES"" and reboot.

Hopefully, there will be a log in /run/udevmonitor.log
Post the log. Also look in /var/log/messages for any error messages. What's the last message?

Thank you for your assistance. It appears the issue has to do with using nvidia-drivers binary blobs. Nvidia has decided to depreciate older nvidia cards again which requires a downgrade to older nvidia-drivers or using open sourced drivers.
