Hi,

I think I messed up the installation of my Soekris NET4801.

It sounds like the system uname doesn't match the CHOST.

Having i486 as CHOST and i586 in system uname is not right, isn't it?

How can I fix this?
I'm currently searching why mysqld doesn't start on this fresh installation, can this be the reason?

Thank you

It should be OK, I had a few VIA boards with soldered on CPU's in past and I did change CHOST to i586 after installing from i486 tarball. Not sure how much performance increase it gave to me, possibly none. In any case, this is a i586 CPU so I wouldn't worry.

Ok, then it shouldn't be the reason for mysqld not to start...
Also all other processes like sshd, apache, etc... run fine, might be more related to Mysql then.

Thank you!
