Hello, sorry for posting here, I usually ask in #gentoo irc, but freenode.org appears to be unreachable right now, I have pastebinned my lspcu info and I don't understand it, it says 4 cpus, but only 2 cores, I just don't completely understand it, it sounds as if this system has 2 Processors with 2 cores, but only 1 socket? I don't get it, thanks!

rottingdead,

Code:
Architecture:          x86_64
CPU op-mode(s):        32-bit, 64-bit
Byte Order:            Little Endian
CPU(s):                4
On-line CPU(s) list:   0-3
Thread(s) per core:    2

Its 4 real cores with 2 threads per core and its all in one socket

You should get 8 tux on your framebuffer boot screen.

I disagree. An A8 is a quad core - 2 modules with 2 cores per module = 4 cores. I'd recommend -j4 or -j5.
