Hi new here, I love the idea behind gentoo compared to all other distress its so open.

Anyway I get to configuring the kernel.

Compiling and Installing.

I run
Code:
make menuconfig

then

Code:
make && make modules_install

It reaches a certain point seems to finishes then restarts I can never get to copy to boot I am rather disappointed
:(

Lyxen

When you ran the command
Code:
make menuconfig
Did you build the kernel and save the .config file when you left the make menuconfig GUI, before you ran the command
Code:
make && make modules_install

Just wondering about this part. It seems like you didn't do this. Sorry if I'm wrong on that part.

May I recommend that propping the laptop on two books to allow air to circulate is a better option? It also has less moisture involved.

Also, laptop coolers are inexpensive and well worth the investment, no matter what OS you choose to run.

Apologies if I take a while to respond. I'm currently working on the dematerialization circuit for my blue box.
