hello,

Qemu has problems with usb apparently.

While passinthrough this:

Code:

-device host:xxxx:xxxx

On linux the port is constantly reseting itself.

And on m$$ gust driver shows with a yellow bang.

So far I've used qemu with the following usb devices:

Code:

-device xhci
-device uhci
-device ehci
-usb

The names are shortened in my examlpe but those were picked from qemu -device help

To passthrough usb do I have to use the same chipset as the host?

For instance my host has ohci but I used uhci in qemu.

The reason that I used uhci is because I don't see a standar ohci chipset option in qemu, they all seem platform specific, apple ohci, tegra ohci, etc.

Another test I did was passthgrough a usb 2.0 device via xhci port on linux but it goes out of control.

I wish xhci could handle backwards compatability flawlessly.

I'd appreciate if anyone know how have a painless usb experience with a qemu guest.

thank you
