What's a good place to download kernel configs? I used to find them couple years back, but they all seem gone. Kernel-seeds.org has broken links. I can't find configs from Debian, Fedora or Opensuse. I actually did find a Debian ftp, but the configs didn't work well (VFS unable to mount filesystem error during load); I don't understand why they didn't work since the Debian net-install disc works fine, but can't find config on the disc itself (I don't want to install Debian ATM). Don't feel like downloading a full install disc, and installing an entire OS, just to get a .config file.

Can someone recommend some default configs for a top performing KVM kernel? I'm using Piledriver cpu and want to use vga-passthrough.

Thanks!

You can download a kernel package from Debian and extract the config from there (.deb files are ar archives, if I remember correctly).
You can do the same with other distros, I suppose.

Edit: here's a link for Debian: https://packages.debian.org/sid/amd64/linux-image-3.16.0-4-amd64/download

vexatious,

kernel-seeds.grytpype-thynne.org sill works but its not been updated since November 2013.
That box is going away on 9 March 2015.

-- edit --
It got moved to a KVM on a new host :)
That link should still work.
