Hello,
I've been trying to install Gentoo on my G4 MacMini for the past day. Everything was going fine until I had to compile Yaboot. The compilation fails in the linking phase, complaining about undefined references to 'pwrite64', 'pread64', and '__stack_chk_fail'. In my research, I have come to believe that this problem is rather similar to one posted on this forum 3 years ago: https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-p-7030856.html

Here are all the things emerge said to provide. It should have the build log, environment, and emerge --info:
http://pastebin.com/DPdPFtKz

Thank you for any help

The __stack_chk_fail part should be related to new defaults introduced with gcc-4.8: https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=527974

Unfortunately, I still get problems even after setting -fno-stack-protector in make.conf or installing gcc-4.7 (this all inside the chrooted environment...).

pwrite64 and pread64 seem to be mentioned in another bug report: https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=544688
