Hi,

I want to get away as far away as possible from systemd so I went ahead and removed udev, then emerged eudev from regular repository. But when I look into /etc/init.d, I see no eudev in there, and udev is just kicking around fine in my /etc/init.d. So I removed udev from default run level, renamed two files with udev name and rebooted.

When coming back from reboot, my kb, mouse, network isnt working, so I used rescue disk to put tings back where they were.

Is eudev called udev? I mean there shalt never be eudev file and only modified udev file form helpful folks who folked it.

Hello txykumat,

The init scripts for eudev are named exactly the same as udev. Installing Gentoo is not an appropriate place to put this post, as all posts in this section have to do with installing Gentoo. Since this question does not pertain to installing Gentoo, you probably should have posted this under Other Things Gentoo.

Doesn't the list of files emerge printed when it installed eudev make that obvious?
