Hello,
I'm coming back to gentoo after many years. I'm trying to install it in a VM for a start, but one problem:

Code:
# mirrorselect -o -i
* Using url: https://api.gentoo.org/mirrors/distfiles.xm
* Downloading a list of mirrors..
Segmentation fault

This is pretty quick, and I do have internet access (ping gentoo.org do work).

Iso file is:
admincd-amd64-20150312.iso

Since I'm too new I don't know if it's a bug or a mistake.

More precisely, this works:
# mirrorselect
And any of these do segfault:
# mirrorselect -o
# mirrorselect -i
# mirrorselect -a

For now my solution is to edit /mnt/gentoo/etc/portage/make.conf
and add GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://<some mirror>"
where <some mirror> is found at http://www.gentoo.org/main/en/mirrors2.xml

I am having the same issue. I am attempting to setup a gentoo system in a VirtualBox system.
Code:

livecd gentoo # mirrorselect -d 9 -i -o
main(); config_path = /etc/portage/make.conf
main(); rsync = False
get_filesystem_mirrors(): config_path = /etc/portage/make.conf
get_filesystem_mirrors(): fsmirrors = []
using url: https://api.gentoo.org/mirrors/distfiles.xml
* Using url: https: https://api.gentoo.org/mirrors/distfiles.xml
getlist(): fetching https://api.gentoo.org/mirrors/distfiles.xml
* Downloading a list of mirrors...
Succressfully enabled ssl certificate verification.
Enabled ssl certificate verification: True, for https://api.gentoo.org/mirrors/distfiles.xml
Connector.connect_url(); headers = {'Accept-Charset': 'utf-8', 'User-Agent': 'Mirrorselect-2.2.2'}
Connector.connect_url(); connecting to opener
Segmentation fault

I do not have another livecd to try at the moment.

I have exactly the same problem with segfault. This is not a livecd but running machine. I'm trying to get list of mirrors for the new repos.conf location. I will do it manually, just pointing out that it is not a livecd issue.

I have similar issue. When I try to use install-x86-minimal-20150407.iso and newer in Virtualbox I see many segmentation faults. The first segmentation fault is present during:
Code:
>> Making tmpfs for /newroot
Segmentation fault

>> Copying read-write image contents to tmpfs
Segmentation fault

With install-x86-minimal-20150331.iso I don't have this issue.
