Estimados

I only looked at this because I don't know Spanish and with the help of Google translate, this still doesn't make any sense.

I don't understand how Centos fits into this at all. Centos like RedHat tends to be a fairly plain but usually working install out of the box. Gentoo is considerably different - if you don't think, you will end up with an unbootable machine.

So, is this an interview question? If it is, and if that person built XFS support as a module and aren't using an initrd/initramfs that has the module installed, no, the machine will not boot.

Hmm...something that could be interesting is making the initramfs mount /boot and try to load modules found on that /boot... that could be a neat idea as a way to "fix" an incomplete kernel and not have to respin the initramfs... *shrug* more ideas for me to consider when making my custom initramfs...

It's a university course question:

That would make sense. Oh well.
It did sound a lot like a "textbook" question than a real on-the-job question.

Next will we get questions of programs trying to trap SIGKILL with futility?
