|I'm trying to set up a VM on libvirt, qemu, kvm, without any graphical interface, running the installation inside an xterm. I've done this before but now I can't find the magic.
I've been googling around for a day now; I won't even bother quoting anything I've found. Recipes are either out of date or don't describe what I want.
Latest thing I've tried, adapted from a recipe I found in an old Debian thread:
...yields the error:
-r 1024 \
--virt-type kvm \
-n gentoo-a \
--disk path=/export/vms/libvirt/images/gentoo-a-2015-04-07.qcow2,size=26 \
--os-type linux \
|ERROR Error validating install location: Could not find an installable distribution at '/mnt/cdrom'
The location must be the root directory of an install tree.
See virt-install man page for various distro examples.
The latest Gentoo install ISO is mounted at /mnt/cdrom, so there must be something I'm missing.
I won't even bother posting other attempts, since it's clear that I need a clue. Got one?
