Hello,
I'm sorry if this isn't placed appropriately, but I think this is the right spot.

lsusb
Code:
Bus 002 Device 005: ID 0bdb:1900 Ericsson Business Mobile Networks BV F3507g Mobile Broadband Module

http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Ericsson_F3507g_Mobile_Broadband_Module
Hardware: ThinkPad x200 Tablet (With SIM card inserted - no PIN)

My kernel is configured for this card and ppp overall - I have /dev/ttyACM0 available (also 1 and 2 - not sure what these are? I assume 0 is the "real" one since it's the only one that returns anything, the two others just time out it seems)

I'm using NetworkManager which does detect this card, it gives me a option to add it as a 3g modem.

However, after that, there's no option to turn it on.

I tried manually sending it commands with net-dialup/wvdialer

Code:
--> WvDial: Internet dialer version 1.61
--> Initializing modem.
--> Sending: ATZ
+CME ERROR: 263
--> Bad init string.
--> Initializing modem.
--> Sending: ATZ
+CME ERROR: 263
--> Bad init string.
--> Initializing modem.
--> Sending: ATZ
+CME ERROR: 263
--> Bad init string.

CME ERROR 263 apperantly is "bad block" but I do not know what that means precisely.

I tried booting another distro - xubuntu to be precise - which didn't even detect the card.

What can I do to get this card working in Gentoo? Worth noticing is that I've never seen this actual card work - then again, I've only tested it in Gentoo and Lubuntu. I had Windows on this machine at one point, and there it showed up as a "Unknown device" in device manager, probably because I didn't have the drivers.

Additional information (edit)

So, I tried with another SIM card - same results.
Although I noticed - after flicking the hardware toggle on and off, there are a few seconds just after it turns back on where it accepts commands like you expect. After something like five seconds it will start returning CME ERROR 263 or CME ERROR 10 (SIM not inserted, which it definitely is). Does this mean my hardware is bad?

dmesg gives me the following after flicking the hardware switch:

Code:
[ 9212.704596] usb 2-4: USB disconnect, device number 9
[ 9212.706267] cdc_acm 2-4:1.1: failed to set dtr/rts
[ 9221.174062] usb 2-4: new high-speed USB device number 10 using ehci-pci
[ 9221.937372] usb 2-4: New USB device found, idVendor=0bdb, idProduct=1900
[ 9221.937376] usb 2-4: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=3
[ 9221.937379] usb 2-4: Product: Ericsson F3507g Mobile Broadband Minicard Composite Device
[ 9221.937382] usb 2-4: Manufacturer: Ericsson
[ 9221.937384] usb 2-4: SerialNumber: 3541430255312450
[ 9221.948343] cdc_acm 2-4:1.1: ttyACM0: USB ACM device
[ 9221.992843] cdc_acm 2-4:1.3: ttyACM1: USB ACM device
[ 9222.031108] cdc_acm 2-4:1.9: ttyACM2: USB ACM device

The second line seems to tell me something but I'm not entirely sure on how to interpret that.
