dhclient needs the /var/run/dhcp directory for its pid; however, it doesn't create it by default.
Does anyone know where the /run directory is, or might be, initialised? I suspect it's part
of initramfs, but I'm not sure.

Thanks - Will

Actually /run is mounted onto/as a temporary filesystem. Normally the service or, as a last resort, the service script shall be responsible for the creation of that directory, along with the proper mode. It's a good opportunity to file a bug.

Yes, /run is a tmpfs mounted on /var/run at some stage during bootup. I'm trying to find out
where and when it's initialised (I assume it has to be eg: formatted) so that I can add the
dhcp directory.
