What error you get when you do
Code:
modprobe r8169
?

I will get:
Quote:
bash: modprobe: command not found

but when lsmod:
Quote:
Module zsize Used by
r8169 60157 0

So r8169 should have been loaded right...

Thanks 8O

Could you tell me who should be set in /etc/conf.d/module...

I set as this:
Quote:
modules="r8169"
modules="iwlwifi"
modules="iwldvm"
modules="iwlmvm"
modules="rt2x00mmio"
modules="rt2800lib"
modules="rt2800mmio"
modules="rt2x00pci"
modules="rt2x00lib"
modules="rt2800pci"
modules="b43"
modules="iwl4965"
modules="iwl3945"
modules="iwlegacy"

Hm, mine is full of commented-out lines (# at the beginning).
Maybe service /etc/init.d/modules is no longer needed? I don't have it in any runlevel.

But if I don't config this file...
lsmod won't have anything...
It's hard to understand...

Thanks 8O :?:

Somewhat complex matter, true.
But /etc/conf.d/modules is the configuration file for the service /etc/init.d/modules. IIRC, this service was used in the past for loading mudules before this could be done by the kernel (or is it done by udev? I don't know).

lsmod works independent from that service.

I try to use modprobe, and get this:
Quote:
modprobe: ERROR: could not insert 'iwlwifi': Exec format error

...There is something wrong with iwlwifi.ko and kernel?
