Hello all,

I finally updated my kernel to 4.0.3 from the archaic version that I was using (and also finally updated to GRUB2). However, the only thing that is odd to me is that I can't seem to get uvesafb to work any longer. Whenever I have my initramfs set to:

Code:

/usr/share/v86d/initramfs

the host refuses to boot, and instead gives the ol' "Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on..." error. I've narrowed it down to that being the *only* difference between a bootable kernel and an unbootable one. This is the exact portion:

Code:

General setup  --->
    [*] Initial RAM filesystem and RAM disk (initramfs/initrd) support
    (/usr/share/v86d/initramfs) Initramfs source file(s)

With that in place, I see the framebuffer start, and the resolution goes to the proper 1920x1200, but then the kernel panic. Without the Initramfs source portion, the system boots, but alas, the resolution is not 1920x1200.

Any thoughts?

Cheers,
Nathan Zachary
