I know i could use LVM for this, but it does not seem to provide redundancy or duplication, as far as I have researched, and I know I could use RAID for this this, reason I ask is that I am used to using Stablebit Drive pool on Windows and would prefer to stay in that area unless I have no other choice.

Is there such a program or utilities for Linux that will do this? Pool all drives into one big drive and duplicate the information across all drives?

Hi,

As you said: RAID+LVM do the trick (but i'm having trouble getting it to run on gentoo, YMMV).

There's also ZFS. It's been deemed stable on linux for a while now.

And maybe btrfs, not stable yet.

I know btrfs can do what i require but as you say its no where near stable production use, I have heard that zfs can be a pain, but will look into it

I honestly doubt you will find Stablebit for linux. Available options are:
LVM with RAID on logical volume level (mind that mirror and raid1 are not equal in LVM)
MD RAID
LVM on top of MD RAID ( I have root on this, works fine)

Each of those does work and which one is best is a mater of prefference. Have your pick.
What is so cool about stablebit that you want to keep it when there are good native tools?

FizzyWidget,

LVM alone or LVM over RAID.

I use LVM over RAID. I've not tried LVM built in striping but its there.
