I'm having trouble setting up scrolling on my touchpad. Not sure how to continue.

Code:

# cat /etc/portage/make.conf
# These settings were set by the catalyst build script that automatically
# built this stage.
# Please consult /usr/share/portage/config/make.conf.example for a more
# detailed example.
CFLAGS="-march=native -O2 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer"
CXXFLAGS="${CFLAGS}"
MAKEOPTS="-j5"
# WARNING: Changing your CHOST is not something that should be done lightly.
# Please consult http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/change-chost.xml before changing.
CHOST="x86_64-pc-linux-gnu"
# These are the USE flags that were used in addition to what is provided by the
# profile used for building.
USE="consolekit pulseaudio usb socks5 alsa python readline dbus X 256-color ssl udev branding bindist mmx sse sse2"
VIDEO_CARDS="intel i965"
INPUT_DEVICES="evdev synaptics"
PORTDIR="/usr/portage"
DISTDIR="${PORTDIR}/distfiles"
PKGDIR="${PORTDIR}/packages"

XFCE_PLUGINS="brightness clock trash battery power

Code:

# cat /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/50-synaptics.conf
Section "InputClass"
    Identifier "touchpad"
    Driver "synaptics"
    MatchIsTouchpad "on"
        Option "TapButton1" "1"
        Option "TapButton2" "2"
        Option "TapButton3" "3"
        Option "VertEdgeScroll" "on"
        Option "VertTwoFingerScroll" "on"
        Option "HorizEdgeScroll" "on"
        Option "HorizTwoFingerScroll" "on"
        Option "CircularScrolling" "on"
        Option "CircScrollTrigger" "2"
        Option "EmulateTwoFingerMinZ" "40"
        Option "EmulateTwoFingerMinW" "8"
        Option "CoastingSpeed" "0"
        Option "FingerLow" "35"
        Option "FingerHigh" "40"
EndSection

Code:

# synclient -l
Couldn't find synaptics properties. No synaptics driver loaded?

###

It ended up being that my touchpad didn't use Synaptics I enabled CONFIG_MOUSE_PS2_ELANTECH in the kernel and now everything works fine.
