I got this item http://www.amazon.com/Asus-ThunderboltEX-II-ASUS-Components/dp/B00ISKS45M and it is plugged, BIOS (UEFI) sees it and lets me configure it. Using with an ASUS Rampage V Extreme. I made sure it is on but it is strange because I am not seeing it at all when booted up. I have an external HDD that can use Thunderbolt and it turns on but no event occurs when it is plugged in (hotplug supposedly works in Linux now). I have the Thunderbolt driver (there is only one and it says for Apple systems) built-in (wonder if it has to be a module).

lspci -vvv output: http://dpaste.com/07R8NXF

I do not have a Windows installation to test this with.

When you search Google this is pretty much all you get that is relevant (0 replies): http://www.overclock.net/t/1474899/asus-thunderboltex-ii-linux-driver
