HI community, I'm new to Gentoo (just moved over from Arch Linux) and I'm having a problem with my wireless card its an Atheros AR93XX wireless card.
Its usually configured automatically by other distros but not in Gentoo.
When I do a genkernel all it doesn't build the module for my wireless card. I'd like to know how I can build it as a module but still use genkernel as I'm not skilled enough
at the moment to compile my own kernel. Can i use genkernel --menuconfig all ? Would that let me add the ath9k module to get built when genkernel compiles the kernel.

Thanks so much

Respectfully

have you ever configured a kernel manually?

Code:
genkernel --menuconfig all

will bring up the manual kernel config, goto Networking support - Wireless, hit Y for cfg80211 - wireless configuration API, Y for cfg80211 wireless extensions compatability
exit back till you see Device Drivers, select Network device support - select Wireless lan, hit M for Atheros Wireless cards then hit enter, hit M for Atheros 802.11n wireless cards support and then Y on the next 5 entries under atheros 802.11n
select exit until you get a Save and Exit prompt and genkernel will finish doing its thing.
