The error is:

Code:
No rule to make target '/lib/firmware//radeon/tags', needed by 'firmware/radeon/tags.gen.o'

I am using genkernel with my own kernel .confg.

Maybe the firmware is available in x11-drivers/radeon-ucode-20140823? However, this is blocked by sys-kernel/linux-firmware which is currently installed:

Code:
Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild  N     ] x11-drivers/radeon-ucode-20140823::gentoo  678 KiB
[blocks B      ] sys-kernel/linux-firmware[-savedconfig] ("sys-kernel/linux-firmware[-savedconfig]" is blocking x11-drivers/radeon-ucode-20140823)
[blocks B      ] x11-drivers/radeon-ucode ("x11-drivers/radeon-ucode" is blocking sys-kernel/linux-firmware-20150206)

I couldn't find a bug report. Is it a bug or am I doing something wrong?

EDIT: kernel version to build is linux-3.18.12-gentoo.

It was my fault. I did not update CONFIG_EXTRA_FIRMWARE in my kernel .config.
