Hi All,

So i have had gentoo installed for about 6 months, All good, then a kernel update come along when i finally updated everything, i can still boot off the old kernel., so thats all good.. So apart from the first install i have never setup a kernel, so maybe i missed something ..

What i did... removed the sym lnk for the old one did an eselect kernel list and then set 1 for the new kernel version .. cd/usr/src/linux and ran this ..

Code:
genkernel --menuconfig --oldconfig --install --bootloader=grub --install --makeopts=-j9 all

Then when i rebooted and tried to load the new kernel it dumps me into a command prompt.. so i do a systemctl and see that i have this error:

Quote:
systemd-modules-load.service loaded failed failed Load Kernel Modules

New : linux-4.0.5-gentoo (I did go in and make sure systemD was marked)
Current: linux-3.14.14-gentoo

Now i'm unsure how to go about troubleshooting this and was hoping for some help , also you may tell me run this or that to output this or that.. Awesome , however i'm i a terminal at boot up so how to i cut and past the output from the terminal ?

Thanks in advance :-)

I dont know much about genkernel, but obviously u miss some modules :D.

If u have some proprietary drivers like nvidia, ati or something else - then u have to reemerge them after each kernel update.
