Hi all,

I installed Gentoo on hard disk but I don't used SSD. I have a HP ENVY 15 Notebook PC with a SSD that Windows used as cache. However I installed Gentoo on SSD too. Now I have :

parted -l:
Modello: ATA HGST HTS541010A9 (scsi)
Disco /dev/sda: 1000GB
Dimensione del settore (logica/fisica): 512B/4096B
Tabella delle partizioni: gpt
Flag del disco:

Numero  Inizio  Fine    Dimensione  File system     Nome    Flag
 1      1049kB  135MB   134MB       fat16           boot    avvio, esp
 2      135MB   8725MB  8590MB      linux-swap(v1)  swap
 3      8725MB  984GB   976GB       ext4            rootfs
 4      984GB   1000GB  15,9GB      ext4            backup

Modello: ATA LITEONIT LMS-24L (scsi)
Disco /dev/sdb: 24,0GB
Dimensione del settore (logica/fisica): 512B/512B
Tabella delle partizioni: gpt
Flag del disco:

Numero  Inizio  Fine    Dimensione  File system  Nome    Flag
 1      1049kB  24,0GB  24,0GB      btrfs        rootfs

Gentoo on SSD starts good but I don't know how to change /etc/fstab for SSD and btrfs file system.

/etc/fstab:
/dev/sda1               /boot                   vfat            noauto,noatime                                          0 2
/dev/sda2               none                    swap            sw                                                      0 0
/dev/sda3               /mnt/gentoo             ext4            noauto,noatime                                          0 2
/dev/sda4               /mnt/backup             ext4            noauto,noatime                                          0 2
tmpfs                   /var/tmp/portage        tmpfs           size=7G,uid=portage,gid=portage,mode=775,noatime        0 0
/dev/sdb1               /                       btrfs           noatime                                                 0 0

Thanks and sorry for my English !

It seems we have a very similar setup. I also have btrfs on a 24gb "cache" ssd. However, I put /boot in there too, and placed /usr/portage, /opt , /usr/src and /var/pkgs in the hd.
I think you should take a look at https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Btrfs#Mount_options and https://btrfs.wiki.kernel.org/index.php/Mount_options If you want to understand the mount options better, instead of just copying from somebody else.

this is what I have in my fstab:
Code:

UUID="d60fe6ee-b7e2-4952-8261-347b63e712d0" /        btrfs           noatime,discard,ssd,autodefrag,compress=lzo,space_cache,commit=120     0 0

(but read the articles, don't copy mindlessly...)
