Hello guys,

I'm having some weird issues on my laptop. Every time I reboot the system from Windows to Linux, Gentoo cant detect my ati gpu and the predicted network devices have their names changed. So Ive got to turn it off, wait like 15min, then turn it back on so it can detect everything. That also happens if I suspend the system using s2ram for example. I couldn't find anything suspect on messages log. My laptop is a Alienware 17 running on legacy mode.

Do you guys have any idea of what that might be or which log should I check?

Tks!!!

I think you should shutdown Win8 completely before loading Linux.

I did some tests. It actually has nothing to do with windows or dual boot. Im running now only the Linux the problem still happens. It works nice till I change something, like upgrade of ati drivers or power back on after system suspended. Looks like the system get changed anyhow. Like I said, the network predicted names get changed and Im unable to load fglrx modules cuz it doesnt detect my card. I have to boot and reboot like 10x till it works well again. Its getting on my nerves.
