Hello everyone,
I hope that I picked the correct forum for the issue I am having and that someone might be able to help me.

I am a Gentoo Newbie and tried to set up Gentoo Studio (http://gentoostudio.org/) by following the Stage 4 installation instructions (http://gentoostudio.org/index.php/stage-4-installation).

In fact, I have conducted this procedure four times, every time ending with the same result:

After installing and configuring grub2, unmounting everything and rebooting (Step 6 of the GentooStudio Stage 4 instructions), Grub starts and lets me select to boot Gentoo... it then shortly displays the message "Loading kernel-...." and then the screen goes blank with only a blinking cursor in the upper left corner.

That is it, no reaction to any key combinations.

I have already tried to follow several guides how to reinstall grub via grub shell ('e', then F2), but it did not help. I suspect that somehow grub cannot find the kernel

I used Boot-Repair-Disk to obtain the boot info for my system and uploaded it here

http://paste.ubuntu.com/12070362/

Unfortunately, Boot-Repair-Disk was not able to solve my problems automatically ... not sure if it is supposed to (maybe it is tailored for Ubuntu?), in the boot info I found a note stating that some relevant package for purging the kernel is missing....

Anyways, I hope that someone might be able to help me to sort this out, I do not want to give up on Gentoo so soon.

Thanks a lot

If Grub cannot find the kernel it will print an error. It is more like your kernel is not configured properly for your hardware.

Alright, then I will check the kernel configuration again.

Thanks!
