Hi, I downloaded the Live CD iso & used pendrivelinux.com & isohybrid & dd, but couldn't boot without legacy support. I used isohybrid & dd then I could boot after enabling legacy support in the BIOS, but I got a problem about root device, even though there's a file called livecd in the root directory of the USB.

I don't have a CD to use.
What should I do?
Can you improve the minimal installation CD to be a Live USB & make it bootable from UEFI?

Use this; http://www.sysresccd.org/Sysresccd-manual-en_How_to_install_SystemRescueCd_on_an_USB-stick

minimal means minimal, does not support uefi
sysresccd has better support of hardware. It is Gentoo based.

The easier way I found to make USB UEFI boot USB from iso is with p7zip. p7zip can extract contents from iso images and output the content straight to the USB disk.

So, use gdisk to create a partition big enough to store the hole ISO DVD.

If your USB device is /dev/sdb (remember to change it accordingly!)

Code:

sudo gdisk /dev/sdb

If GPT is corrupted, fix it, also!
Code:

GPT fdisk (gdisk) version 0.8.10

Partition table scan:
  MBR: protective
  BSD: not present
  APM: not present
  GPT: present

Found valid GPT with protective MBR; using GPT.

Command (? for help): n
Partition number (1-128, default 1):
First sector (34-1953458142, default = 2048) or {+-}size{KMGTP}:
Last sector (2048-976730111, default = 976730111) or {+-}size{KMGTP}:
Current type is 'Linux filesystem'
Hex code or GUID (L to show codes, Enter = 8300): ef00
Changed type of partition to 'EFI System'
Command (? for help): w

Final checks complete. About to write GPT data. THIS WILL OVERWRITE EXISTING
PARTITIONS!!

Do you want to proceed? (Y/N): Y
OK; writing new GUID partition table (GPT) to /dev/sdb.
The operation has completed successfully.

Now, format this partition as vfat:

Code:

sudo mkfs.vfat /dev/sdb1
mkfs.fat 3.0.28 (2015-05-16)

Mount the partition:
Code:

sudo mkdir /mnt/liveusb
sudo mount /dev/sdb1 /mnt/liveusb

Extract the iso DVD image there:
Code:

sudo 7z x livedvd-amd64-multilib-20140826.iso -o/mnt/liveusb/

7-Zip [64] 9.20  Copyright (c) 1999-2010 Igor Pavlov  2010-11-18
p7zip Version 9.20 (locale=es_AR.utf8,Utf16=on,HugeFiles=on,4 CPUs)

Processing archive: livedvd-amd64-multilib-20140826.iso

And it should work. Just reboot it and test it!
