I've written a small script that will generate a html page containing information on the bug reports for the ebuilds that would be installed by calling emerge -up world.

The script is writenn in ruby. Thus you need to have dev-lang/ruby emerged on your system.

This is a sample output file.

It contains the names of all ebuilds that would be emerged by emerge -u world. The names of each ebuild link to the query page of bugs.g.o for that exact ebuild. (currently quering only for all and x86 bugs) It will only list open bug reports.
If there are no bugs present you will find a Zarro Boogs found next to the name of the ebuild.
If bugs are found. The table of bug reports from the query page will be displayed right beneath the name of the ebuild.

The output of the script will be directed to standard out. You will have to redirect it to a file of your choice.
One way to call it would be:
Code:
ruby bugviewer.rb > bugzilla.html

Future version should include:
    - automatic parsing of /etc/make.conf to retrieve the architecture
    - a command line argument to choose an output file
    - a command line argument to specify the emerge command that should be parsed
    - other improvements???

I just ran this script and it seemed to run fine. However, and I am stupid when it come to running scripts and such, I am not sure how to get to the output. I mean, where do I find the output file?

Please excuse myself for not mentioning the way to call this script.

The script will output its output to standard out.
meaning you will most likely have seen it fly by on the screen.

simply type
Code:
ruby bugviewer.rb > bugzilla.html
This will redirect its output to a output file of your choice. (bugzilla.html in this example)
