Hi. I have the "latest" 1.7.0_85 icedtea-bin, but that is not enough for me. Some software requires openjdk8. I know the reason why it is not updated, but I also want to get rid of oracle-jdk.
First I need to add my /opt/openjdk8 directory to "eselect-java-vm"
The build manuals I used https://github.com/hgomez/obuildfactory/wiki/How-to-build-and-package-OpenJDK-8-on-Linux

Thanks in advance.

Why not use from java overlay?
Quote:
=dev-java/icedtea-3.0.0_pre04-r1:8::java

It would give you
Quote:
