Hi,
Our Magento install does not support MariaDb, although it is said MariaDb is a binary copy of Mysql, I do not want to take the risk of using alternate unsupported software.
Currently our gentoo system is using MariaDb.
How can I get rig of MariaDb and use Mysql instead.
Thanks for your help.

Hi sseguron
theorically, it is sufficent to emerge mysqld as stated in the wiki.
Portage should complain about having MariaDB already installed and try to uninstall it if possible
There is a potential drawback (maybe more than one)

since your system is actually using it, you should also migrate actual data from MariaDB to the new MySQL
you may dump the current MariaDB content and restore it in the MySQL DB. The wiki also contains a procedure you can adapt to backup your data in order to restore it in a new DB

It could not be so simple... But I think you can give it a try
Regards
