Hello. I'm having troubles while scanning sheets with scanimage.

I am using the command
Code:

scanimage --resolution 600 -d genesys > image.pnm

By default it should copy the entire visible area — 300 mm length. Instead the detector scans approximately first 230 mm and stretches the image (the circles are visibly distorted lengthwise).

Setting the length manually does not help — anything above 300 is reset to 300 and again only 230 is scanned.

What may be wrong?

UPDATE: The problem disappeared after the computer got switched off. Then appeared again for no obvious reason. Then disappeared after I unplugged and replugged the scanner. Looks like it was caused by trying to scan with the detector mechanically locked for transporting.

UPDATE 2: The problem occurred again for no apparent reason after it spent several hours switched on, but not working. It disappeared after I unplugged and plugged back the scanner.
