hi, I am installing gentoo , while compiling the kernel ( With genkernel ) known this warning :
* WARNING : Failed to mount / boot !

My disc is set in this way
:
/ dev / sda1 → to be used as /
/ dev / sda2 → to be used as / home
/ dev / sda3 → to be used as swap

I am setting mode bios ( even though my pc is UEFI )
as I did with arch ,
do I have to worry?
Thank you
//update
:oops:
I had saved the change in fstab :oops:

You need /boot but it needn't necessarily be a separate partition. Does /boot exist? If not, create it with mkdir and be sure it's readable and writeable.

In /etc/genkernel.conf these is a parameter whose default is as follows:

Code:
# Set the boot directory, default is /boot
#BOOTDIR="/boot"

and another
Code:
# Mount BOOTDIR automatically if it isn't mounted?
MOUNTBOOT="yes"
I don't see a # in mine so maybe the default is "no" and it warns.

All of my systems have a separate boot partition, but I know it is not necessary.
