I am having a problem loading signed modules since 4.3. I am not sure if this is because there is a new dependancy on openssl in the disto but I get a Problem loading in-kernel X.509 certificate -74.. I have a 4.3 build that works but I beleive that might have been built with a different locale and/or version of openssl and or with gcc 5.3

I have checked the certificate using an ASN decoder and it is valid but the kernel says that the time is invalid. The EBADMSG (74) comes from

561 invalid_time:
562 pr_err("Got invalid time [tag %02x]: '%*phN'\n",
563 tag, (int)vlen, value);
564 return -EBADMSG;
565 }

in crypto/asymmetric_keys//crypto/asymmetric_keys.c

FWIW: day < 1 || day > mon_len fails because mon_len is zero

Seems month is 1 based not zero based. There should be a dummy 0 in the month_len array. So the problem is the month being december.

I would mention this on the kernel mailing list but I don't feel like having to endure that horrible place that is LKML.
