I have a laptop that has completely broken screen, is connected to an external CRT monitor type. In the process of installing gentoo when I start using "Minimal Installation CD" there is no video output to the external monitor and therefore to continue I must maneuver to make ssh connection, however, when I start with "Hybrid ISO (LiveDVD)" video output to external monitor exist, I can see boot messages of the system and I can continue the installation from there.

My question is why is this happening? What component launch the video output to the external monitor and why at the start of "Minimal Installation CD" does not act? What is the difference between "Minimal Installation CD" and "Hybrid ISO (LiveDVD)" in this case? The kernel configuration? or the kernel modules? how I can do the same in the "Minimal Installation CD"? Or I can't? Maybe with a kernel boot parameter?

I am studying Linux system administration and I love to know how everything works. It is a fascinating world. effectively.

Investigating I found this:

The vgaarb is a module of the Linux Kernel. When it is initially loaded, it scans all PCI devices and adds the VGA ones inside the arbitration. The arbiter then enables/disables the decoding on different devices of the VGA legacy instructions. Devices which do not want/need to use the arbiter may explicitly tell it by calling vga_set_legacy_decoding().

I am investigating but I can't find especifically what is happening and how I can make an video output to external monitor during gentoo installation with "Minimal Installation CD".
