Gentoo Linux Security Advisory

Title: OpenSMTPD: Multiple vulnerabilities (GLSA 201601-04)
Severity: normal
Exploitable: remote
Date: January 27, 2016
Bug(s): #562034, #562290
ID: 201601-04

Multiple vulnerabilities have been found in OpenSMTPD, the worst
allowing remote attackers to execute arbitrary code.

OpenSMTPD is a lightweight but featured SMTP daemon from OpenBSD.

Affected Packages

Package: mail-mta/opensmtpd
Vulnerable: < 5.7.3_p1
Unaffected: >= 5.7.3_p1
Architectures: All supported architectures

Multiple vulnerabilities have been discovered in OpenSMTPD. Please
review the CVE identifiers referenced below for details.

A remote attacker could possibly execute arbitrary code with the
privileges of the process, or cause a Denial of Service condition.

There is no known workaround at this time.

All OpenSMTPD users should upgrade to the latest version:
# emerge --sync
      # emerge --ask --oneshot --verbose ">=mail-mta/opensmtpd-5.7.3_p1"
