Hi

I am running Gentoo on a VM in command line only (no desktop)

The resolution of the VM is tiny, its like a little square box. How can I change the resoltion of this? Even grub is a tiny box

Regards

e.g. http://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/17027/how-to-set-the-resolution-in-text-consoles-troubleshoot-when-any-vga-fail

framebuffer related or such ...

i use something like this these days

Quote:
You should be able to get full resolution in the framebuffer by editing your /etc/default/grub and making sure that the GFXMODE is set correctly, and then adding a GFXPAYLOAD entry like so:

GRUB_GFXMODE=1680x1050x24

# Hack to force higher framebuffer resolution
GRUB_GFXPAYLOAD_LINUX=1680x1050

but vga statemetn also worked on non uefi box for over 10 years
