Hi!

You simply mount your gentoo partition, mount /proc, /dev, /sys as explained in the handbook.

Then chroot into it and "emerge -av wpa_supplicant"

basedanon,

Welcome to Gentoo.

You run
Code:
emerge -fpv wpa_supplicant
and make a note of the files it wants.
Fetch the files and put them into /usr/portage/distfiles

Code:
emerge -av wpa_supplicant
will now run and build using the files you provided.

This method is called Sneakernet.

Thanks so much that worked.
Great OS, I love having everything compiled from source.

I made the same mistake when I was installing Gentoo for a first time, but my solution was simpler - I just plugged in ethernet cable :)
