Hi

In an older server I upgraded the RAID 1 from 350GB to 1TB drives. All is fine as listed below after HDD upgrade

Quote:
SBox ~ # cat /proc/mdstat
Personalities : [raid1]
md1 : active raid1 sda2[0] sdb2[1]
6143936 blocks [2/2] [UU]

md2 : active raid1 sda3[0] sdb3[1]
970584704 blocks [2/2] [UU]

md0 : active raid1 sda1[0] sdb1[1]
32704 blocks [2/2] [UU]

unused devices: <none>

These are not GPT partitioned disks

Quote:
SBox ~ # fdisk -l /dev/sda /dev/sdb
Disk /dev/sda: 931.5 GiB, 1000204886016 bytes, 1953525168 sectors
Units: sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes
Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 4096 bytes
I/O size (minimum/optimal): 4096 bytes / 4096 bytes
Disklabel type: dos

/dev/sda3 12355584 1953525167 1941169584 925.6G fd Linux raid autodetect

Now I upgrade to GRUB2. When I get to installing grub2-install step to throws an error. I understand that the new drives have new UUID but I would have thought that mduuid would have been the same.

Quote:
SBox ~ # grub2-install --grub-setup=/bin/true /dev/sda
Installing for i386-pc platform.
grub2-install: error: disk `mduuid/c845d9551ec0b439cb201669f728008a' not found.

Any ideas how I can solve this.

Thanks
