So I just booted into gentoo with the minimal installation iso off a USB; I'm at the livecd ~ # prompt.
ifconfig shows 3 devices: enp4s0, lo, and wlp3s0 none of which are connected to my network and I have no IP. pinging google.com leads to ping: unknown host google.com

I'm not using an ethernet cable, I'm using wireless, and I've tried to run dhcpcd eth0 to no avail.
How can I fix this?

UPDATE: I have fixed this following this guide https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Sakaki's_EFI_Install_Guide/Setting_Up_Networking_and_Connecting_via_ssh

B0sk0,

udev renames your interfaces so that they have "persistent" names.

enp4s0 is the persistent name for eth0. Its your wired interface.
wlp3s0 is the persistent name for wlan0 This is your wireless.

dhcpcd enp4s0 will bring up enp4s0 (eth0) if you use a cable.
dhcpcd wlp3s0 will start wireless if you have all the packages.
Look in dmesg to see the renaming.

You need to have wpa_supplicant installed to deal with the wireless encryption.
You need a correct wpa_supplicant.conf file to tell wpa_supplicant about your wireless access point, the encryption and so on.
