So after installing Gentoo and Xorg/MATE my touchpad isn't working. I don't know what the problem is as I have always had the touchpad work previously in other distros and in Gentoo previously. I compiled the kernel with genkernel and enabled everything in the mice section of the input device section. Here is some info that might help:

Output of lspci -k: https://bpaste.net/show/a3a07177406a
Output of dmesg: https://bpaste.net/show/b7599064b8ce
Output of lsusb: https://bpaste.net/show/912e37c31f4b
My /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/50-synaptics.conf: https://bpaste.net/show/a51ce68f6f46
My /etc/portage/make.conf: https://bpaste.net/show/42d6b00fd7fc
My /etc/kernels/kernel-config-x86_64-4.4.6-gentoo: https://bpaste.net/show/819e6faaca32

If you need anything else, just ask and I'll give it to you!

Sorry to ask you for something else than your quite comprehensive list of logs, but /var/log/Xorg.0.log might have some extra information about it.

Sorry about forgetting that.

Here it is: https://bpaste.net/show/cb3dfeed01d0

P.S.: I have looked through all of these logs to find nothing. I'm not being lazy and making everyone else do the work for me.

You could try to change your MatchDevicePath:

Code:

MatchDevicePath "/dev/input/event*"

Whoops! I seemed to have forgot to update the file I had in the 50-synaptics.conf file. Here is the one I am using now (with the one commented out line working): https://bpaste.net/show/7019a0ae23ad
