I have a Skylake i3-6100 in my Linux server. Does anyone know which framebuffer device I should use for the igpu? This is just for the framebuffer device, I do not have x.org installed on this machine. Unless I'm missing something, these are the only two choices, but neither one seems to fit:

Code:
< > Intel740 support
< > Intel LE80578 (Vermilion) support

Here's how it shows up:

Code:
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Sky Lake Integrated Graphics (rev 06)

Akaihiryuu ...

it will be DRM_I915, and FRAMEBUFFER_CONSOLE, not sure if DRM_I915_PRELIMINARY_HW_SUPPORT is required for skylake (perhaps someone else can answer that question).

best ... khay

That's the DRM driver for X...I'm talking about the framebuffer driver. Under Frame buffer devices.

Two options:
Either use the i915 driver and its framebuffer emulation:
Code:
CONFIG_DRM_I915=y
CONFIG_DRM_I915_PRELIMINARY_HW_SUPPORT=y
CONFIG_DRM_FBDEV_EMULATION=y

If you don't want the DRM driver (because you are not running X), you can instead use the EFI/system framebuffer:
Code:
CONFIG_X86_SYSFB=y
CONFIG_FB_EFI=y
CONFIG_FB_SIMPLE=y

Ahh ok. I didn't realize the DRM driver had a framebuffer driver emulation. I was looking under framebuffer devices for a driver.
